The "ODYSSEY" concept
Inspired by Odysseus, the mythical king of Ithaca and his famous travel adventures, we are pleased to offer a unique outdoor experience. Odyssey Outdoor activities was established in 2013 and we focus on providing quality activities to the visitors of Ithaca island. We are a team of passionate outdoor people. The love for Ithaca is our common element. The small groups give us the opportunity to establish a strong personal relationship with our clients. We try not only to offer fun and safe activities but also to introduce Ithaca to people from all around the world through interesting historic information.
The Location
Odyssey Outdoor Activities center is located in Vathy bay which is the main town of Ithaca island. Ithaca is one of the seven main islands of the Ionian Sea. It is mountainous with breathtaking-view paths, vertical rocky coastline, beautiful little bays with pebble beaches, amazing underwater rock formations and unspoiled seafloor ideal for many different outdoor activities. It is located close to Kefalonia and Lefkas and it is surrounded by many smaller islands as Meganisi, Arkoudi, Atokos, Kastos and Kalamos. We run our activities mainly on Ithaca island but we also visit all the above islands in some of our trips. Ithaca is one of the most compete destinations for outdoor activities in Greece.

They never left behind safety and behaved with much passion and effort towards the customer, we appreciated this thankyou. Not to forget, new well mantained dive equipment, cleaned areas, punctual, good vibes.

“Tour of North Ithaca by Jeep”
We booked a tour of the northern part of the Island by jeep with our superb guide George. The tour took approximately 5 hours and was partly off road, taking in some stunning views. We saw things we would never have found on our own, including the The School of Homer and the grave of Yiannis Papadopolous. However, the highlight for us was visiting a family owned and run vineyard where we were made very welcome. Having grown up on the island (and studied in Scotland) George was very knowledgeable and informative. His English was superb and his driving was excellent. Highly recommended!

Took my 11 year old daughter for her first ever scuba dive and found George to be an EXCELLENT instructor with a very calm approach. Had my daughter totally at ease. George Nick and Harry are a very friendly bunch and made the whole experience a real day to remember. Would definitely recommend.

“Brilliant Day Sea Kayaking!”
I was a little dubious about sea kayaking in open water and as a beginner and someone who isn’t very fit I was concerned I would be out of my depth (Ha Ha!) However, this was a brilliant 5/6 hours of gently kayaking out of Vathy and around to Sarakiniko Beach. The sea was flat calm and the sun was hot so I’d recommend sun cream and a hat! We were given all the necessary instructions and safety gear.
You stop at Gidaki and other little out of reach bays along the way and they provide a snack and a drink. I would take your camera as there is a little cubby in the kayak that keeps things dry.

“Professianal and relaxing!”
I had two nice dives on Ithaka with George from Odyssey Diving. He is very relaxed, a lot is possible, nothing seems to much and I could choose what kind of dive I wanted. He does a good briefing including things about the side. A professional divemaster (and probably instructor as well). As a bonus, he made pictures during the dives and sent them to me after a few days, for free. Don’t miss the opportunity to dive with Odyssey Diving when visiting Ithaka!
